Qualified!

Physicians go through a rigorous process to be qualified to care for patients. Specialization can take over a decade of intense studying, long hours, and hands-on training. The goal is to ensure that, at the end of it all, the physician produced by the process meets a standard of excellence - and it is that standard that qualifies them.

But this principle of qualification doesn’t apply only to doctors.

Whether it's a product, a service, or a person, we trust what has been tested and approved. That’s what branding is based on. When you see a familiar logo, you automatically assign a level of quality to it - either trust or skepticism- based on experience and reputation.

That’s why we read reviews before choosing a doctor or buying a product. We look for indicators of qualification.

Why? Because qualification matters.

It tells us that something has been through a process, has proven itself, and is now worthy of our confidence.

Now, here's the part that gets me every time-

"Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light." Colossians 1:12 (NKJV)

Let that sink in. He qualified us.

As a physician, I know what qualification demands. The sleepless nights. The emotional toll. The grueling exams (some as long as 10 hours!). And that’s just to practice medicine.

But what does it take to qualify for eternal life?

It cost God His Son.

It cost Jesus a sinless life.

A shameful, sinner’s death.

Rejection by the very people He came to save.

Separation from the Father.

Descent into hell.

A battle against the full force of darkness - and a victorious resurrection.

Jesus earned His name - the Name above all names.

He earned His place at the right hand of the Father.

He deserved it.

But you and me?

We did nothing.

We didn't meet the standard. We were unqualified.

And still… He called us qualified.

Grace Qualified You

God didn’t wait for you to earn it - because you couldn’t.

Not with a perfect record. Not with a thousand lifetimes of effort.

So He did it for you.

Through Christ, God did the work. Then He handed you the badge of approval and called you worthy.

That’s grace.

Now, you're not just tolerated - you’re chosen.

You're not just forgiven - you’re welcomed.

You're not just alive - you’re an heir of the Kingdom.

When It Doesn’t Feel Like Enough

Some days, the weight of life makes it hard to feel thankful. But when you can't find a reason to rejoice - remember this one:

You were unqualified, and now you're not.

You were far off, and now you're home.

You were excluded, and now you're family.

The Father qualified YOU through Jesus, and all you had to do was say yes.

Final Thoughts

I’m grateful for every degree, every credential, and every hard-earned achievement in my life.

But more than anything, I’m grateful that God qualified me - not because I earned it, but because I believed Him.

And if you’ve said yes to Jesus, you are qualified too.

Not because of what you’ve done, But because of what He did.

So say it loud:

“I am qualified. I belong. I am loved.”

I love you,

Oyin.
