Stop Waiting: The Power of Intentional Living

There is a subtle mindset that quietly holds many people back:

The belief that one day, things will just fall into place.

That growth will happen naturally.

That change will come eventually.

That life will somehow align itself—without much effort on our part.

But if we are honest, that is not how life works.

Positive change does not happen by chance. It happens by intention.

The Myth of Passive Growth

We often find ourselves waiting:

Waiting to grow spiritually

Waiting to become disciplined

Waiting to get healthy

Waiting to become financially stable

But waiting alone does not produce transformation.

There is a principle from physics that illustrates this clearly:

An object in motion stays in motion until acted upon by an external force.

In the same way, if nothing changes in your actions, nothing changes in your outcomes.

Growth requires movement.

It requires participation.

It requires a decision to do something different.

Growth Requires Participation

Consider your relationship with God.

You do not deepen your walk with Him simply by attending church for 50 years.

Church is important. Fellowship is powerful. But transformation requires more.

It requires:

  • time in His Word

  • time in prayer

  • intentional pursuit of His presence

Scripture makes this clear:

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. — James 4:8

Notice the invitation: draw near.

There is a response required.

God is willing.

God is available.

But we must take the step.

What You Sow, You Reap

This principle extends into every area of life.

You cannot live casually with your finances and expect wealth to appear over time.

You cannot neglect your body in your youth and expect strength and vitality decades later.

You cannot drift through life and expect purpose to find you.

Scripture reminds us:

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. — Galatians 6:7

This is not a harsh statement. It is a clarifying one.

Your future is not accidental. It is cultivated.

Even “Natural” Growth Is Supported

Sometimes we look at examples of growth and assume it happened effortlessly.

A baby grows without “trying.” But even that growth is not random.

It happens because the baby is placed in the right environment—nourished, protected, and sustained.

Growth always has a support system.

There is always intention somewhere.

Nothing good happens by chance.

When Favor Meets Preparation

There are moments in life that appear sudden.

A breakthrough.

An opportunity.

A connection.

And from the outside, it may look like things “just fell into place.”

But when you look closely, you often find preparation beneath the surface.

The struggling businessman who meets an investor on a plane already has:

  • a developed idea

  • a prepared pitch

  • the courage to present it

The person God uses mightily has often already chosen obedience—long before recognition ever came.

The 90-year-old who wins a marathon did not begin at 90.

They built a life of movement, discipline, and consistency over decades.

What looks like sudden success is often intentional living meeting divine favor.

Intentionality Invites God’s Involvement

This is where your earlier truths come together.

When you move in the right direction, God amplifies your steps.

Not because you forced the outcome, but because you partnered with Him through action.

Intentionality is not striving.

It is alignment.

It is saying:

“Lord, I will take the step—help me as I go.”

And in that place, something beautiful happens.

God adds grace.

God adds favor.

God adds strength.

And what began as effort becomes momentum.

What Is Your Preferred Future?

Take a moment and reflect.

What do you actually want your life to look like?

  • Spiritually

  • Physically

  • Mentally

  • Financially

What is your preferred future?

Now ask the more important question:

What are you doing today that moves you in that direction?

Because without intentional action, that future remains a wish—not a reality.

Take the First Step

You do not need to do everything at once.

You do not need to overhaul your entire life overnight.

But you do need to start.

  • Spend time with God today

  • Move your body today

  • Make one wise financial decision today

  • Choose one healthy habit today

Small steps, taken consistently, create lasting change.

Stop Waiting

Life rarely transforms by accident.

Growth is not something that happens to you.

It is something you participate in.

So stop waiting for things to fall into place.

Start moving.

And as you do, trust that God will meet you in your movement, strengthen your efforts, and guide your path.

Because intentionality is never wasted.

I love you,

Oyin.
