God Has More at Stake in Your Life Than You Think

I recently had to make a decision, and I found myself putting so much pressure on myself not to miss God’s will.
I prayed. I thought. I worried. I replayed possibilities in my mind. The weight of the decision felt heavy because I genuinely wanted to choose rightly.
Then, as I was praying and feeling bothered by the situation, a thought dropped into my heart:
“God has more at stake in my life than I do.”
That gave me pause.
If I miss God’s will, the loss is not only mine. In many ways, the greater loss is God’s — because God often thinks in generations, while we usually think in moments.
We want needs met. God wants destinies aligned.
We want answers. God wants purposes fulfilled.
We want relief. God wants legacy.

God Sees More Than We See
When we come to God with desires, many times our desires are not wrong. They may even be God-given. But our view is usually limited to what we can see, feel, or understand in the moment.
God sees beyond that.
He sees the people connected to our obedience.
He sees the generations affected by our alignment.
He sees the assignments attached to our yes.
He sees the fruit that can come from a surrendered life.
This is why alignment matters.
Not because God is trying to make life difficult, but because He knows what is attached to our decisions.
When Human Desire Meets Divine Purpose
Think about Abraham.
Abraham wanted a son. God wanted a covenant nation.
Think about Hannah.
Hannah wanted a son. God wanted a prophet for His people.
Think about Elizabeth.
Elizabeth wanted a son. God wanted a forerunner for the Christ.
In each of these situations, the human desire was real and valid. Their longing mattered. Their tears mattered. Their prayers mattered.
But God’s plan was bigger than the immediate request.
They desired something deeply personal, but God was working something generational. And when their desires aligned with God’s purpose, the manifestation came with significance beyond anything they could have imagined.
Sometimes your desire is not wrong.
It may simply need to be aligned with God.
Because He has higher stakes in the situation than you realize.
God Is Not Casual About Your Life
This truth is both comforting and sobering.
It is comforting because it means God is not careless with your life. He is not watching from a distance, hoping you somehow figure it out. He is deeply invested in your path.
It is sobering because it means our decisions matter.
Our obedience matters.
Our stewardship matters.
Our alignment matters.
God has placed something in us and upon us that He intends to use for His glory. We are not random people living random lives. We are His workmanship, created for good works that He prepared beforehand.
So when we ask for direction, we can ask with confidence.
God wants us aligned even more than we want to be aligned.
Health Also Requires Alignment
This applies to our health journey too.
Many times, when we think about health, we think in terms of appearance, comfort, or personal goals.
We want to lose weight.
We want to look good.
We want to feel confident.
We want to fit into certain clothes.
Again, these desires may not be wrong. But they are not always deep enough to sustain us.
God’s view is bigger.
We may want fit bodies. God wants bodies fit for purpose.
We may want energy for convenience. God wants strength for our assignment.
We may want mental clarity so life feels easier. God wants our minds renewed so He can release wisdom, creativity, and solutions through us.
When we care for our bodies, we are not simply improving our lives. We are aligning with God’s desire to use us well on the earth.

The Cost of Neglect
When we neglect our bodies, minds, or inner lives, we do not only hurt ourselves.
We may also hinder what God wants to do through us.
If we are constantly exhausted, overwhelmed, sick, inflamed, anxious, distracted, or depleted, it becomes harder to carry out the assignments God has placed before us.
This is not condemnation. It is perspective.
God is not asking us to worship our bodies. He is asking us to steward them.
We are His temple. We are carriers of His glory. We are vessels through which He wants to demonstrate His goodness in the world.
So don’t just take care of your body to look good.
Take care of your body so you can carry God’s purpose well.
Take care of your mind so you can produce God-grade ideas on the earth.
Take care of your soul so your emotions, decisions, and desires can stay aligned with His heart.
God Wants a Win-Win
One of the most beautiful things about God is that His will is not designed to destroy us.
God is not looking for a win where we lose.
He is a good Father.
He wants alignment that blesses us and glorifies Him. He wants obedience that matures us and advances His purpose. He wants stewardship that strengthens us and serves others.
God wants a win-win situation with us. ALWAYS.
When we align with Him, we do not lose ourselves. We become more fully who He created us to be.
A Prayer for Alignment
So if you are in a season of decision-making, pause and remember:
God has more at stake in your life than you do.
That does not mean you should be afraid. It means you can trust Him.
He wants you to know His will. He wants you to walk in purpose. He wants you to live well enough to carry what He has placed inside you.
Ask Him for direction.
Submit your desires.
Invite Him into your health, your work, your relationships, your plans, and your future.
Then take the next step with peace.
Because the God who calls you is also invested in you.
And He has high stakes in your life.
I love you,
Oyin.
